what, you don't like driving on straight lines for 2 minutes at a time where only items matter for shuffling around placements because there's no way to overtake someone by playing well?

>>712418449 (OP) I'm just not very excited about nu-Nintendo output. Didn't even finish TotK.
>>712419162 really loved totk, but it was kind of in spite of itself a lot of times, like how I had to intentionally restrain myself just to not overpower every "puzzle" with the same broken solutions. also somehow every single one of the 140 (or was it 160?) shrines felt like a tutorial and then when you think next the game will make you really utilise what you learned, the shrine is just over
Tendies be like: yo, this race track design is freaking :fire emoji: :fire emoji: :fire emoji:!

>>712418449 (OP) >buy game >complete all the cups in 4 hours >spend 1 hour online but then quit because this kind of game isnt made for online play plus shitty Nintendo netcode >game sits on shelf collecting dust until some day someone comes over for splitscreen can someone remind me why this is worth 80$ now?
>>712420056 That's not fun party game design either though

>>712419162 I didn't finish it either. They seem to have gone full lowest common denominator slop simply relying now on the power of the brands they have. That will give them maybe a decade of good sales as fandoms are slow to turn, but they will turn eventually.

>>712419162 Tears of the kingdom is garbage. They took all the most boring parts of Breath of the Wild and made it the entire game.
>>712418557 Doesn't even feel like a nintendo game. More like a fan game or something or a chinese knock off

>>712418449 (OP) doesn't even have proper tracks. half the race is spent on some garbage generic road that isn't part of the track you wanted to play and there isn't a real lap system.

The open world looks like an empty disney attraction park. You'd think you'd have the time of your life at disney if there was no long queues, you could ride anything you wanted at anytime, but when it's empty like that it makes you remember you're an adult and those things are ultimately not fun to you. That's also why the open world feels shallow, it's not a world, it's an attraction park.
>>712422154 I recently played old games I didn't get to experience as a kid and they were great. Clearly, even games for toddler back then were better than the games for the "massive modern global audience" of today.
>>712422340 There's also this weird disparity because the switch 2 looks like it's designed for teenagers as well as being pretty fragile, while the games are made for babies

>>712418449 (OP) It's about the same as every other Mario Kart. Which is to say random item spamfest. I don't know why I expected something different.
>>712422425 It's all about the skill to luck ratio. Mario kart wii and mario kart 8 deluxe had it perfect and they COMPLETELY fucked it up in this one.
The game should've been made by bandai namco like 8 deluxe was instead of by a new team internally at nintendo who clearly don't know what they're doing
