It actually is a pretty cool little action game. It’s not a masterclass in finely tuned combat balance or level design, and it suffers from a lot of modern slop trends like yellow painting, but I’d say that even with the ass removed it’s a far better game than, say, Nier Automata, and everyone seemed to like Nier Automata.

Actually if you wanted a pretty accurate comparison, saying SB is a cross between Nier Automata and Sekiro would be a fair way of putting it.

It really doesn't though. Have you actually played it? The demo starts slow but you do get a "all equipment and skills unlocked" boss fight to play with at the end of it, you can mess around and see how it feels. It's actually pretty neat. There are definitely some things I'd change about it but if you like reactive gameplay (lots of dodging and parrying) rather than building out long elaborate juggles, it's quite cool. Interesting balance of defensive options that have to be used in different situations, nice tight timing, some pretty cool equipment skills.

It presents itself as flashier than it is (it has a whole combo tree system but it's basically meaningless) but in a lot of ways it feels like "Sekiro with 4 combat arts at once".
