Duchess is pretty strong, her rewind literally can double your team's damage output if you know when to use it. She's squishy, but your enhanced dodge makes up for it, and with a good INT scale she ends up being pretty versatile, though I personally prefer the status proccing potential she has.

It works on anything that does magic attribute damage. I like it because it's always useful at the start for pebble/the wave, and a good selection of the best anti-nightlord spells are all magic damage too, though I do occasionally end up pelting lightning or something instead.

Yeah, there is definitely a tradae-off, but imhofam, the large AOE circles that spawn under you and explode in under a second are harder than all of that combined, and I swear they get harder/more numerous if you don't break meditation.

Fulghor was the hardest solo boss for me. Erratic movement makes lock-on projectiles whiff often enough for FP issues, and deaths to off-camera floorspears are gay. Executor bullied him hard, but I keep wiping at 10-30% with other characters.

If you have a competent team Recluse can be a great support with her AOE healing, infinite FP etc but it all hinges on you finding a holy seal
