>>712447185Yeah. It's still "optimized" ray tracing, even if it's cutting your performance to 1/4. It really is that bad, and it often results in shadows and sometimes lighting that are just better with RT turned off. Reflections are a different story. Ray traced reflections look better in games where the devs relied on literally only screen space reflections, but there are games that have a mix of both mapping and SSR that look worse than ray tracing most of the time, but often good enough.
GTA5 is the biggest proof that mapped reflections are actually better than ray traced ones. As soon as you turn ray tracing on, reflections look like shit. Ray tracing is only good as a replacement for SSr.
