Do you like to collect older hardware? Or do you just stick to emulation?

I like collecting, but I reached my limit a few months ago and don't buy anything anymore. Retro stores overprice things too much, and everyone else uses Pricecharting.

I only play on original hardware. This makes a lot of /v/ very uncomfortable for some reason.

Same except I hit my limit about 2 years ago.
It's pretty nice for my kids.

I usually stick to emulation but sometimes I like getting stuff like the Analogue Pocket (which can also emulate).

emulation is superior because most old games ARE FUCKING BULLSHIT AND I NEED A SAVE STATE.

pretty much this. I rediscovered my love for my Analogue Pocket. I put the entire NES/SNES library on it. Also got myself a GB/GBC and GBA Everdrives. In an era where it's getting increasingly more difficult to buy modern games, I'm going back to retro. I played Kirby's Dream Land on stream and had a ton of fun. Wanted to stream Mega Man 1 through the legacy collection, but immediately noticed that it's horrifically stretched with no options to fix it and the colors look off. Compared it to the NES version on my pocket and it's a noticeable difference to my autistic eyes.

This is the only reason why I'm going to suck it up and play the legacy collection version. I can always fix it in post

I bought some NES/SNES games when they were cheap back in 2008, as well as what I had when I was a kid. Got some of the expensive games like Earthbound and Lufia II and still have them. Nowadays though? I'm not overpaying for this shit. I just emulate and move on.

if I were rich and logistic wasn't such a nightmare i'd prefer real hardware.

I prefer the real thing. Emulation will never, ever be perfect enough for me.

Occasionally I'll go to yard sales and grab some things, I dont really go out of my way to like retro stores and such.
