I’ll cry just because RE5 is a shitty RE game.

I've been on a RE kick since the 9 reveal and am almost done with 7 (like it a lot). Afterwards I got RE3R and RE8 lined up. Already beat and enjoyed RE4(OG) and RE2R.

How's 5? Fun? It's like 5 bucks at the moment, I just want opinions. And should I play 5 or RE3R first?

Its fun even if you play alone, just don't give more than one weapon to Sheva, but all the talk about Bad ai on her part is súper overblown

Sheva's AI is nowhere near as bad as some of you fags claim, I beat the game on pro and only ever felt like she got in the way like two or three times. She's actually one of the best AI companions (out of those that actually play the same game and arent just there to tag along).

Its shit co-op in a franchise that is supposed to have a horror based atmosphere. Being in africa with the sun out and just enemies you have seen before doesnt capture ANY of that. Even RE4 for how much corny action it had at least had perfectly ok horror set pieces, which they took better advantage of in the Remake in spite of its flaws.

They dont lean all into the schlock, where you could have went full retard with enemy designs because you are in africa, with shit like parasite infested elephants, cheetas, tigers, vultures and all that shit or full on ooga booga voodo africans that lean more into the roots of the voodoo zombies and shit, instead you get generic spear chuckers in a swamp. RE5 is bland, uninspired, and one of the worst co-op games in a generation known for its co-op experiences

There is nothing inherently wrong with co-op. Its when it is forced upon the player to where it is shit. Discounting the overly used waste of resources aside, there isnt much in the game to actually take advantage of the co-op itself other than needless tedium like "I can punch this boulder but I need your help pushing this box so we can just waste time doing fucking nothing" to the point where other than two people having a good time shooting the shit, which you can do with a lot of games, its not strictly an RE5 thing, there is nothing unique it has to offer.

I think the RE franchise as a whole would be better if they had dropped Code Veronica onward from the canon entirely and just rebooted the entire canon. Maybe you can do something with 4, but thats a hard maybe.

CV is a solid 6/10 game, but what it did to the franchise was abysmal. It has many flaws and id rather just play pretty much any other classic game, or even non 5 or 6 modern games, even though 7 is kinda boring on repeat plays
