The only reason they look good is because of the contrast ratio, and most monitors these days with have the equivalent anyways. Even 1080p monitors. No real reason to go oled.

My reasoning is that I bought an OLED phone in 2011 and it took 5 years for it to burn in. Current generation OLED technology must be greatly improved so I can probably use it for 10 years with no issues. What matter more to me is things like refresh rate, size, resolution, vrr capability than burn in

does this even matter if every single OLED suffers from VRR flicker? surely a 1000nit display rapidly turning itself on and off while viewed in a dark room can not be good for your eyes in the long term

I thought vrr flicker would be bad but it really isnt - IF - your computer is decent enough to run games at your monitor's refresh rate

Why do you niggers not understand OLED can't be ran 24/7, just get off the computer when it automatically turns off to reset you fucking retards.

LOL, LMAO even
a top-tier PC struggles with modern games because devs can't optimize for shit. you either upscale or use fake frames

I have an IPS monitor, mine has never looked anything like the right and I've seen plenty of IPS monitors none of them look like that irl. That is so fake and exaggerated.

if you have slower vision and can tolerate flickershit, have blurry vision and can tolerate weird subpixel arrangement, and prefer oversaturation to accuracy

Burn in is a red herring, the real flaw of OLED is VRR flicker. Burn in can be mitigated or ignored, VRR flicker is game breaking and makes it virtually unusable. Don't fall for the propaganda.

It's guaranteed to burn in. But yeah it looks pretty cool.

Good for phones, because black doesn't require power/light.

But for anything else the bigger the better.
3Dtvs are cool.
Plasma is good for no input lag like a crt.

Not worth concerning yourself with. If you have any screen it's good enough. Make a custom colour profile lowering gamma and increasing contrast if you can.

If you don't have anything then get something second hand. Unfortunately I think you need to set up a console with your tv before you can play it on your phone.

Take a picture of your monitor with your phone, it'll look shittier.
It's not fake, it's just how cameras work.

Just buy a mid-range OLED for gaming and a high end one for movies. I have a Panasonic flagship from a couple of years ago and only use it for films, but have an LG C4" hooked up to my PC that I use for games. I take no burn in precautions with it because fuck it, they're not that expensive, if it gets bad enough that I start to notice it I'll buy a new one.

No. Most OLED can delay burn in for 2-6 years depending on how much you use them, what kind of content, and how careful you are with the safety measures. But eventually it will burn in, there is no avoiding the fact that the material physically has a finite limit.

My TV is only just showing signs of burn in (burn out is more accurate) and it's 9 years old. It's done really well.
The biggest issue it has is yellow had started to look more green in the middle of the screen.
I'll replace it next year

This is some crazy sour grapes. OLED looks amazing and so far my only complaint is the protection firmware being kinda aggressive with lowering brightness. It gets pretty jarring sometimes.

And on the tvs just enable pc or game optimiser picture mode.

My BenQ I got for the overwatch beta (the game was amazing back then) is still going strong. I expect it will still be just as good as the day I got it in another 10 years. They used to make tech to last, all my evga computer parts are still working too.
No reason to upgrade when it will just last forever.

LG C4 when running HDR movies. Anime in particular because of how crazy the brightness can get with white subtitles.
