>Game heavily dependent on unconventional camera angles and crude graphics to create a sense of dread and horror is going to get an OTS remake with pretty visuals
I hate everyone involved in this and I hate (You) for being excited for it.

The flood of remakes and the lack of modern ports is proof that games will never be respected as art, and instead are viewed as glorified toys. Most movie/TV remakes for example are (rightfully) shit on for being soulless cash grabs, such as the disney live action remakes, netflix adaptations, or the 1998 psycho remake. The only exceptions are movies like john carpenter's the thing, which was a completely different interpretation of the original short story. Not to mention classic movies are painstakingly preserved, with examples like the coppola restoration. Meanwhile silent hill 1-3 have their entire source code lost, the only way to play them on modern hardware outside of emulation is the god awful hd collection, and now we have a 2nd soulless modernized corporatized western ESG slop demake announced within just a year of the first one being released. Fuck this entire industry.

It has cool camera angles in exactly 1 playable cutscene at the very beginning of the game and then it's largely played from a shitty early OTS perspective.
