It's really good up until like the last 3rd of the game

I started my first run on hardcore and I'm getting reamed on only the first big encounter. Am I just bad? Is the rest of the game this difficult?

My favorite games are the original trilogy. I also really like RE4 and REmake 1, 2 and 4, and 7 a little less. QI enjoyed 5 in coop back in the day, and the Wii rail shooters. Dont care about the rest.

8 is a better than 7 in the benevento house, but is the rest is worse.

Nope that bit is stupid difficult on the hardest setting. But it still has ways to cheese it and after that it's nowhere near as hard ever again.
