It's impossible for the game to be shit with such an amazing OST. Educate yourself, OP.

I played FFX for the first time the past few days and beat it yesterday. I avoided it for the longest time because people generally say it's lame, but it was fucking great.
FFX2 however already feels like a downgrade and I'm only 40 minutes in.

I don't give a shit about that when it's a PS2 game. I couldn't even finish FFXIII because the characters were so bland, I was expecting to have a similar problem with X and the characters being annoying, but they weren't.

Secret summons/Aeons, can control all characters, can change characters mid battle, the Sphere Grid is super customizable and you can even delete/add nodes while the Crystarium is just boring and trash, etc.
Anyone that compares X to XIII non-ironically is totally doing it in bad faith.

I'm inclined to believe that FFVIII probably had the best side content along FFVII among the first 9 games. Looking for secret GFs was fun, Deep Sea Research Center is decent, Triple Triad is both fun and useful for refining, Shumi Village and Winhill were chill af, Omega was a decent extra boss as well and getting your commands back by killing bosses in Ultimecia's Castle as well as the dungeon itself were fun. No 0 seconds chocobo race, jumping ropes, dodging thunders, etc.
