This is always a mistake.
1st. It demonstrates to the faggots that they don't matter and any support for faggot shit was always performative and false.
2nd. It demonstrates to the normal people that these devs don't actually have any principles because they were willing to pander to freaks thinking it was popular. If they really had a problem with fag shit their values would have been consistently against it from the beginning.

Changing your stance alienates everybody. Anyone with sense will see that if they could change their mind once they can change their mind again. If you're going to take any stance you have to make sure you're willing to see it through to the bitter end. Which is why it's always a fucking bonehead move to take a stance and divide your audience in the first place.
