This is an obvious shop. Stellar blade has been an enormous success and the players are all praising it's impeccable character design, deep action-packed gameplay, and the impeccable story writing that shift up is known for. For whatever reason the success of this nearly perfect game has really triggered the gays like op.

That is actually the real number of westerners who play the game. Which is not bad if unsurprising. Even here you can tell /v/ doesn't actually care about this game outside of a handful few who actually enjoy the game. Considering /v/ is full of poorfags, I really doubt a 50 or so people here went and paid 60 dollars for this. During the lead up to release there was like maybe several anons who said they were loading up the game. The other threads were just anons riding the shit storm.

hard mode becomes parry until the final hit to which you should dodge. Hard mode Raven in particular wants you to perfect parry + jump + perfect dodge in some sequences.
also, if you dodge in the direction of the attacker, you get additional I frames. And double dodge is a spook

You don't dodge melee attacks. I mean you can but it's really tricky since most enemies have follow up attacks that will track you just as you're recovering from the dodge animation. However you can get the double dodge skill to make things smoother, although I mostly use it for repositioning.
Either way, rule of thumb is >melee - parry >ranged - dodge

You can jump his sword swipes since this game has really tight hitboxes. Also, when he was charging his sword, you're supposed to sprint away. Dodging isn't enough since it covers a really wide area.

I know now, I got this far in just a few attempts on hard mode and panicked when I probably could have taken him out with the gun. Also learned to not hit R1+Circle without being right up in his face. I'm just tired, been playing all day.

It's obvious you haven't played it and have some kind of agenda. Stellar Blade is easily the best action game of the last ten years! EVE is the sexiest protagonist I've ever seen and the variety of cute costumes are so much fun to play around with. Stellar blade transcends the tired conventions of soulslop and character actions and creates an experience unique to itself that also manages to rise far above its contemporaries. To top it all off it has the enthralling signature writing that Shift Up is known for. It is truly a perfect game and I say this with no exaggeration.

Gigas also has delayed tracking attacks that fuck up your dodges. Fucker is huge and covers more distance than you'd imagine. Like you'd think you've dodged outside his melee range then suddenly he's on top of you.

Why don't more games do this?
All the action games seem to just make the boss' entire limb,(sometimes even the entire model) a hurtbox during any attack
and the only reason it works without feeling like complete shit is because the games also let you abuse dodge iframes

You can test it yourself. It also prevents Eve from getting stunlocked because say an enemy sends her flying off the ground. If an enemy tries to hit her and she's still up in the air, the enemy will likely miss her if her body doesn't touch the enemy's model.
