Why tell tale simply didn't make anime games?

Because at the time TellTale came on the scene, a lot of investigative visual novels were being made in Japan. Since the main draw of TT's adventure games is finding clues and exhausting all dialogue, it would have just felt derivative of stuff like 999 and Ace Attorney.
