Shit QoL, the save system and UI were underwhelming even for the time. Otherwise, pretty good platformer.

Casualized 1's difficulty, jetpack levels suck dick, worst boss fights in the trilogy. Best colored gems and death routes though.

Gimmick triple down, but at least we're committed this time I guess. Easiest one of the lot, but probably the most polish and the extra abilities are pretty fun.

1- Perfect nowadays but back in the day the saving system sucked, but I jave tk accept I'm nostalgic about writing the password on a piece of paper

2- Warp room gets rid of the narrative aspect if a linear map hub

Level design didn't account fir new movement tech, the platforming is trivialized with basic motion inputs like slide-jump

3- Crash 2 problems + even more braindead platforming with the addition of powers

Crash without the slide jump is like playing Sonic without being able to spindash in place, it just doesnt feel right

You need to backtrack most of the levels in the first half of the game because almost all the colored gems are on the last island
At the end of the day it's just a 2D platformer with a mostly pointless Z axis

Final boss sucks

Most new moves you get are pointless fluff

The death route is hard and all, but you basically have infinite lives to complete it because of how easy it is to get 1-ups in that game. For every life you lose you'll probably get 80+ wumpa fruit in that attempt.
Meanwhile in Crash 1 every hard section has to be done first try or you don't get the crate gem.
