ok. I am now convinced that Fromsoftware is capable of making engaging stories and engaging cutscenes not just to show off a cool boss. its a little sad but I think Miyazaki's autismo "gotta add as little of the story as possible and make it obscure" shtick is kinda holding them back. I'm also not sure if Yui Tanimura would fix this.

Yeah, this has been bubbling under for a while now. The Revenant cutscenes especially hit different—it’s not just vague poetry and cryptic item dumps, there’s actual character, stakes, emotion. Sekiro already proved they could do legit narrative pacing and character arcs when they want to, but Nightreign’s story bits honestly feel like they let some writers off the leash for once. I still like the environmental storytelling, but it wouldn’t kill Miyazaki to let a plot thread resolve without needing a wiki deep dive. As for Tanimura, man's track record is… uneven. Scholar had some juice, sure, but DS2’s core story was still a Mad Libs fever dream.

Armored Core 6 had a fantastic story, it's genuinely a tragedy they are still sticking to their garbage ass vague storytelling formula.
