I've talked to tons of western normies irl and at most they will play fifa or some sort of battle royale game. China just have more artists and coders. Most western normies don't use PCs to play games so you are right they love to play COD or some fortnite shit. China don't have this culture and they mostly play games on PC so they are more into pc games like pubg or cs2 or league of legends, etc. Now they are buying more console games or AAA games since they have more money and now they are consuming mostly everything, even those woke games.
