Anyone else have boss fight fatigue? It's just such a boring and forced mechanic in all video games; it's like the hair metal guitar solo of this medium. Music was able to evolve beyond lame shit like that, so why can't we? See pic related: a game with 0 boss fights that's still really challenging and infinitely more interesting than 99.9% games.
Rain World isn't really combat oriented, you're meant to avoid fighting most of the time. So a boss fight isn't really a natural fit anyway.
Whether it's a literal boss or just a hard combat heavy segment, you need them to punctuate the game's acts, in my opinion.
I loved Rain World up until Downpour released
The modded content absolutely destroys the original games soul and vision. theres a boss fight in artificer's campaign for fucks sake
