Unironically agree with half of this. Nioh 2 had that perfect storm of wild yokai power fantasy, actual player agency with Create-a-Chad, and just enough degeneracy to keep me invested between duels. Going from that back to a dude named after the most bureaucratic snoozefest of the unifiers is the real downgrade. Like yeah, cool, give me precise parries and 90 different stances again, but don’t take away my yokai identity and expect me to be hyped for diet-Wirriam or Sengoku simping.
