Is there anything wrong with playing the legacy collection over the original games on emulator? any change or censoring I should be aware of?

Legacy Collection can be had for a fiver and consists of natively-run decomps of the original games. I'd say it's the definitive way of playing these games, but don't listen to me. I'm not a MM fan, I just happen to like the games.

Legacy Collection bundles native decompilations of the first 6 games and can be easily found for under $5. I'd say it's the definitive way to play the NES Mega Man games. I beat this collection on XB1 like 10 years ago with a little help from the save/load function, but that's only because I suck at games, not because of any input lag.

You will definitely notice on the ones that are actually hard (1, 2, and 3).
On the other hand, if you master these games on Legacy collection, then play them on original hardware at any point, it will seem like easy mode.

never played on original hardware(except for snes/ps1 games), first beat the classics with emulation, break for some years then marathoned all the steam collections in a month with no problem, was responsible enough to not care, only x1 was kinda weird.

I literally just dealt with this shit yesterday and it was driving me nuts. The games colors are off and there's no square pixel mode, so everything is stretched. There's a mod that fixes the stretching, but apparently you can't play on an ultrawide monitor and you have to force 1080p for it to work

That's how it was in the originals. I'm sure there are turbo modes that eliminate that on emulators. I think it's in the legacy collection as well.

you do you, the originals had lag, the 3ds version has lag, i forgot how the gamecube version plays.

it should be fine with an emulator but a modern controller would likely feel pretty weird to use unless you got an extremely solid d-pad on it.
