Thinking of buying this 3ds on ebay, are those cracks on the wedge superficial or are they an issue? Also Is the screen quality okay aside from the smudging to you guys? What are some must play games for it, was planning on playing all the atlus games first. How easy is it to get DS and GBA games on there? are they all available via the H shop?

I can't comment on the hardware but yes it's relatively straightforward to get DS and GBA games on there. You want Twilight Menu for DS. Hshop I think doesn't host injects anymore, only Virtual Console releases, but there's plenty of tutorials online for turning a .GBA file into a Virtual Console inject, or you can just install an emulator on there.
All the Atlus games will keep you entertained for a while, after that you should check out Kid Icarus Uprising, Fire Emblem and Bravely Default.
