Whatever happened to all the licensed games that would accompany whatever blockbuster movie was releasing?

zoomers and younger don't have the attention span for movies and the only ones they give a fuck about are about video games to begin with

Video game industry became bigger than movie industry. Now we have licensed movies that accompany the game.

Movies are way worse now because every franchise or new idea is being owned and driven into the ground. In the last 20 years (which was one KK 2005 came out) we have seen the death of superhero movies, Star Wars, Terminator, 2D animated movies, Predator, Alien and gaming itself.

It's too expensive to make games now so movie studios gave up.

1995-2009 was the sweet spot when games were just cheap enough to make to release constant tie in material and make a profit.

Have you seen movies lately?
The real answer is the economy has been in decline since 2001.

Not only that, but given how long it takes to make games now as well you have to plan the stuff way in advance and hope there's no delays.
