I was just thinking the exact opposite opinion the other day. The original cover is iconic and perfectly captures Ellie in the act of ruining her life by making brash decisions fueled by anger which have savage, traumatizing consequences, which is what the core of the story is about. The remaster cover is way more generic and forgettable, in fact all of the covers that ND makes for their remasters are shitty downgrades.
