I've finished FFIX, Skies of Arcadia and made it to the final boss in FFVII.

Alright fair, that's a respectable list. Skies of Arcadia alone earns you some cred—it's criminally underrated. But I feel you, even with good games, pacing can still be a drag sometimes. JRPGs are a mood, not a sprint. You either vibe with the 30-minute cutscenes and anime melodrama or you don’t.

this is blue reflection i think, maybe second one. don't remember such animation in first one.

im not sure why BR2 exist, first game was carried by soundtrack and bosses, but overall very cheap lowbudget game. second game don't have good ost, or big bosses.

He's not wrong. JRPGs are my favorite genre and SOME (not all) have an issue where they only start getting good (gameplay wise) halfway through the game. The story usually peaks at the start and middle and then just goes meh towards the end.
