IEMs or Headphones for gaming?
which one allows you to hear the footsteps of the guy about to shoot you in the back more accurately?
which one lets you hear the ambience as the developers intended better?

I'm the rare person here on /v/ who likes IEM's. I don't like headphones because they're uncomfortable and my ears get too hot.

unless it's 7.1+ you're better off with headphones

Headphones for the best audio quality, IEMs for better comfort. In my case I use both. HPs for gaming and IEMs for casual use.

What's your budget? If it's less than $150 then go with a good pair of IEMs otherwise you'll want a good pair of headphones, preferably open backs for the open sound.

Open backs only work for incels who live in their mothers basement

For normal people who have the occasional noise around them they arenโ€™t any good

I think my head/ears are too big for headphones. Every pair I've tried, my ears hurt after a while from the cartilage being pressed against my head.
