I live alone and trust my apartment complex/area, but I can understand why people would want/have cameras in and around their house. I personally have never needed that extra layer of security, so maybe I should count myself lucky. I'm not sure at what level of fear/paranoia you need to reach to consider security cameras in and around your house though.
