>In an update on X from June 12, the company shared photos of its new employees receiving training on the engine.
>Assembling a team of over 50 engineers headed by former Ubisoft and Square Enix technical director Julien Mercenon as CTO, Bandai Namco Studios set out to build an engine capable of large-scale development, including open-world games.

that was grim because Tekken, SoulCalibur, Ace Combat, Ridge Racer 7 and others each one used its own in-house engines that often received upgrades....until the PS4 release and the UE slop fest.

All excuses to hire Ubisoft leftists and virtue signal for ESG points fucking fags.

You can say anything you want about quality of Ubislop and Squares games but their tech is top notch. Dunia,Snowdrop,Anvil and other Ubi engines are really good same with Squares internal engines.

He worked for Ubisoft until 2006, when they were actually fucking good.
He also worked on Fox Engine

The dude worked on the tech side for Splinter Cell, Hitman and MGS.

He didn't work in Ubisoft for almost 20 years.
He didn't even work on Luminous, but took part in IOI's Glacier engine and Crystal Dynamics' engine, as both of them were under Square Enix, only after they acquired Eidos.
And then he worked on Fox Engine.

Based as fuck.
Hated how Tekken 7/8 looks, past Tekken games were always crisp.
On top of that, when it comes to in-house engines, the publisher could always update the engine however they want.
There is a reason why Capcom (regardless of how you feel about their games) have been outputting games left and right, and there is no stopping.

man I remember back in the day when you could look at the logo's on a game's box to determine whether it was gonna be free of glitches and defects
nowadays you have to look at the list of credits and autistically research the people who worked on it to see if it's worth playing. it makes me so sad, and annoyed

Nevermind Bandai Namco Online going bankrupt and how every game they shutdown get reverse engineered by the community poking holes in the games like Swiss cheese.
Gundam Evolution had a private server only 4 months post end of service (which was 16 months after launch)

They don't know how to use UE. Every game they released on it had a million vulnerabilities. They made stupid shit client side authority in multiplayer games, didn't bother with any sort of real anti cheat measures, and would do laughable shit like accidentally bundling the server code into the game client.

Very hard to make out but from the screens but looks like game code uses C#, probably IL2CPP like RE and Unity

it looks like visual studio as well, not vscode, so that limits what it could be a lot less as well
c# for game code seems like a reasonable guess (and is not a bad choice)
