Why don't more games have schizo protagonists in them?

because when the schizo protag starts doing bad things, and is called out for doing bad things, a vocal portion of players think the game is calling themselves bad people.
t. Spec Ops The Line, TLOU Pt1 and 2, Pathologic, LISA: The Painful, and people that complain about the honor system in Dishonored giving them a bad ending.

Because modern audiences are idiots that need every protag to be "likable" regardless of whether or not the narrative actually endorses that character's actions.

The way Cain and Angelus managed to endure together through a word that was even crazier than they were was so good.
Their relationship was the highlight of the game for me.
