Why do Zoomers become enraged rabid animals when you tell them to play the original versions of games as the developers intended instead of playing Remakes or watching playthroughs online?

30 years old boomer here so I have no sympathy for zoomers, but why do millennials become enraged rabid animals when you tell them you're playing the remake of a game they played as kids?

Remakes only make sense when there are major improvements to be made and the original has glaring flaws. System Shock, Black Mesa and Resident Evil all make sense as remakes. But remaking shit like Resident Evil 4, Persona 4 and Silent Hill 2 is extremely retarded.

Many original versions of movies are readily on streaming services, whereas classic game titles have very limited libraries on their services, like PS+, gamepass, or switch online

Videogames are not a mature medium. They're the product of a very new industry that grew exponentially before having the chance to mature. It's also an industry that's entirely focused on producing expensive toys rather than "art".

The creators of "classics" were just absolute amateurs throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. The quality of the end product was more often than not determined by sheer luck and a combination of fortunate coincidences rather than raw talent or vision.
In fact, "vision" never gets through, what you buy is almost always the result of a billion compromises. I can appreciate when the stars align and the result is good, but that doesn't mean old school devs (or any devs for that matter), deserve my "respect".
As a matter of fact, I don't respect them or their "vision" and will always try to mod their creations to better fit and reflect my tastes.
