I understand. Personally I think it was a fine ending, but the twist came somewhat abruptly and it doesn't feel like the series intended to fully go in that direction at the beginning. Still, one of the more unique endings to any anime I've seen. Definitely cemented the show as one of my all-time favorites.

I picked up studying the Pacific War after buying a few books during a sale my local library had (each book was $2 per, and I snatched up a few about aircraft carriers because they looked cool), and life has become so much more interesting, as there's so much shit that my teachers either didn't explain, or didn't cover at all.

If that fails, learn how to write, draw, or learn another language. For me, learning in general is just fun, hopefully (You) can find something similar, anon. I only play old games.

There are many romhacks if you haven't bothered yet. Start with 3-4 star hacks and save the highest rated for later. If you like other metroids there are many hacks for the gbatroids and nestroid too. The prime games don't yet have hacks beyond stuff like doubling enemies.

I still get some enjoyment out of new AA and Indie titles. If video games aren't doing it for you try going to a few social events.
Concerts, a sports bar, a tabletop store etc.
If you're still not feeling happy, and if your state allows it, unironically try edibles. If your state doesn't allow THC edibles CBD should still help you. For me, I gave edibles a try just for the meme because I used to listen to Joey Diaz's podcast but edibles have done wonders for my mood and I'm able to look at the world in a more positive light. Yesterday I turned on the old GameCube I bought from a local retro game shop and started playing some SA2B. Just like old times. I have:

I also feed them chaos drives that align with their highest stat boost from their respective animal. I don't know if I'm even doing this right but I'm trying to keep them neutral. I might let the dragon chao become dark aligned but I'm not sure yet.
