At this point, yes, Sony and Microsoft destroyed gaming by turning consoles into media hubs for the living room when they were always meant to be game machines, literal toys for kids or in the PC's case, virtual computer apps for nerds. We already had CD players, DVD players, Blu-Ray players, and computers, the hell we needed that in game consoles? This shit ended up effecting games too later down the line. Nintendo and Valve just brings gaming back where it was in the 80s and 90s.
