I would want an answer from someone who actually DM:d for vampire games, so should completing a contract killing affect your humanity? I mean you know that they are a criminal, and 99.99% probably they are responsible for someone's death, but they never posed a threat towards you and you choose to kill them for a profit, how would the humanity system handle it?

A 4 humanity vamp doesn't see humans different than cattle, anything higher would lose humanity for a contract kill but it wouldn't do anything for 4 or less

It's more entertaining to post the question here and have people defending the morality of contract killing

Only if I get to rub your greasy gamer scalp while whispering lore inaccuracies in your ear. Let's make it a Bloodhunt date, you degenerate.

Fair point and I thought about the same thing when I was reading about the path system that Sabbat vamps are supposed to take. Like it really sounds like it comes down to mental gymnastics, if you really thought that Boris the mobster is a very very bad person then you could be excused for killing him and still you get paid handsomely for it.

Humanity has a 10 point chart. V5 changed it somewhat around.
>In the newest edition, Humanity has some different mechanics, some are similar. Barring special circumstances (such as a modifier based on Predator type), a Vampire player character begins with Humanity 7 (for regular Kindred) or 8 (for just-Embraced fledglings), also, the Humanity "Moral Guidelines" depend on the personal Convictions that the Vampire (or Mortal) have.

It would depend on your humanity level.
At Humanity 10 you're literally Jesus.
Humanity 7 is pretty much the average human in terms of morality.
At Humanity 5 and below a Vampire would start to feel less bothered by killing people.
At Humanity 2 you're a psychopath.
At Humanity 1 you're literally an animal.

everyone knows you trade in those points for extra experience until you're at humanity 5 because you'll lose them anyway in a session or two

"Psychopath" is such a tired label, it's under antisocial personality disorder and killing for profit is definitely under there as well, but I just find it interesting that in the game you are blatantly killing a very destructive criminal just because you are making a very good profit from it. So your motivations are completely selfish but it just happens that the target is a piece of shit who deserved it, should that matter? So it really is matter of does your character feel bad about it

that's when you hit 0 and turn into a wight and effectively just hunt for blood and hide during daytime like an automaton. humanity 1 vampire CAN function, just not really in society because you get insane penalties on interaction with humans.

I'm surprised because V5 is actually harsher on lower Humanity negatives. Just getting a single negative dice roll for human interaction if you do what >>712652312 says and get to 5 is already a detriment enough to not go for it.

I'm fairly sure that negative dice was always in. It's less important than you think unless you're the face of the party. Or playing as Sabbat.

>>712653441
It has all the negatives like longer torpor and shit.
