I think prebuilts can be alright if you really pay attention to the pricing and wait for sales. This is the same prebuilt bought last year, and came with a 100 dollar rebate that I spent to swap to 32GB of RAM. So ignoring tax, that's like 700 dollars less to have a 4070 super instead of a 5070.

I'm guessing tariff nonsense is the biggest reason the price is so different. 4070 Supers were MSRP$600 while 5070 is $550. otherwise there's no reason for the price to be so much higher assuming the rest of the components are the same (minus RAM, as you mentioned).
