- Focus on offensive stats and lumina completely ruin the difficulty act 2 onward
- There's a promise of interacting statuses and attacks for buildcraft in act 1, but they're completely thrown out the window in favor of spamming your strongest attack every chance you get
Other gameplay:
- Gestral beaches, ironic bad is still bad
- Half the areas in the game are way too big
- Platforming is so shit
Narrative:
- The big twist takes a sledgehammer to all the setup earlier in the game, it doesn't come out of nowhere, but it's immensely unsatisfying
- Complicating elements are introduced literally after the final boss is dead so that the reader doesn't have a clean moral quandary
- An ending choice that reads as a cowardly way to not make any statement
Writing:
- Characters are generally written well, but there's a distinct lack of reflecting on the world in act 3 from main characters
