>One of the most important aspects of multiplayer FPS is TTK
>Often leads to some games feeling like shit
>Is rarely discussed
Why is that?

Higher TTK filters browns, assuming there isnt a massive safety zone. (If he can fix 15 seconds of poor play with 5 seconds of hiding then its moot, if he cant its just a short TTK, but he "dies" 15 times.

Lasering some dude instantly is great, mindgaming someone for 45 seconds, where they were losing the whole time, that is best.

I dont play Hero Shooters or any kid who was ruined by them, dont talk about assfaggots or whatever Im talking about shooters.

Lasers are gay, using movement to defeat opponents is better

Click on head to win is fucking lame. Games need either movement like Arena Shooters and Tribes (before it was ruined) or if it's going for tactical realism then make the actual shooting harder. Moving your mouse is not the same thing as aiming a fucking rifle.

Because TTK on it's own is not the only thing that matters in an FPS. There are factors such as map design, player movement, and ease of use of weapons, essentially the average TTK matters more than the optimal TTK.

It depends on the game, that's why I posted the study. Higher TTK feels like shit in CoD for example. Even MWIII and BO6 with 300ish TTK feels bad, mostly due to RAA though. With faster TTK at least I can compete against roller players.

COD made a big show of it the last few years, the devs are keenly aware of how much TTK can affect the pace of a game.
People were so used to MW19's slow pace that CW's much faster speeds and higher TTK made for a much more manically aggressive game. MWII was basically MW19 2.0 to the point of games being infamous for being glacial and hitting time limit rather than score limit, exacerbated by Infinity Ward's tendency towards having gigantic maps with lots of open space. MWIII's best improvement on MWII was increasing the TTK and speed by milliseconds to encourage people to play more aggressively since they're less likely to be cut down.
BO6 is basically vacillating right now because so much of the userbase just plays 6v6 on face off/strike maps which designed for 2v2 so it just feels like insane gutterfighting brainrot and everybody votes against the bigger maps so it's impossible to meaningfully calibrate even though on paper it's probably the fastest COD in a decade.

rainbow six vegas on realism mode is still the best fps experience ever. 2-3 shots and you're dead. an unlucky peek can kill you instantly because of a headshot.

I would prefer slower TTK in COD if I could turn off crossplay. But issue of slow TTK with crossplay is RAA. You can't compete in BO6 with MNK.
