I did want to replay it just to see what could be different on a second playthrough. The intro is a bit overlong imo though. It isn't a great rpg or a great sandbox crime game but it does have some of the best world design in vidya.

Virtuous Studio (Oblivion remaster studio) was hired to work on Cyberpunk 2077 for the next few years, probably to keep the IP in the news and keep updates and content rolling out and provide some extra sales and income from DLC in the downtime from now until CDPR's next releases. This lets CDPR keep their studio focused on making Witcher 4/Cyberpunk 2 without splitting teams trying to wrangle 2077 updates/DLC.

Makes it pretty clear what an organizational shitshow CDPR's been since they started Cyberpunk + ballooned the studio size over 1,000 people (I bet over 3,000 people now).

I'll bet the update is free but it's just prep for the DLC they release afterwards (for money). I am absolutely not going to be surprised if this ends up being another Fallout 4 / New Vegas situation lmao

Because it was a full priced high-profile title, and the way it ended up was fucking disastrous. If you ended up snagging a used copy cheap, it was fine for the laughs when the game wasn't going out of its way to fail you on missions due to bugs.

And you've got the opening line from neuromancer - which ironically today has a completely different meaning:

Which is a neon blue today, but back then was grey/white/black static.

Anyway the core themes of cyberpunk is more like rebelling against the system / the system becoming anti-human or inhuman, and trying to tackle the identity crisis and social alienation caused by technology. The gritty noir aesthetic - particularly night time and rainy (because thats all you retards ever refer to), is part of cyberpunk but it's by no means the defining feature.
