>>712682550lol that's fair, and in hindsight I think Nintendo just really hates AA in general for their first parties. That being said, it's clear that the Switch 2 is targeting much higher quality on the same level of fidelity as last gen
>>712682634I should clarify - it *is* a generational step, but it's not a *leader* in cutting edge fidelity by design. In Nintendo fashion, it's a stable target that pushes the console back into mainstream palatability (think Bloodborne but with some better shader work), which is honestly a smart move when every other platform is in an arms race for who can layer the most UE5 lighting features into their games.
There is nothing "bad" about the fidelity target on the Switch 2. The only thing people keep asking for is a competitor for current PC/PS5Pro games on mobile, but traditionally handhelds have always been a half or full generation behind their larger brothers, but in no way is a PS4-looking video game unappealing. Most PS5 games are PS4 video games with more shaders, higher framerates, larger render distances, etc., but fundamentally the same experience. Contrast this with the jump from Morrowind to Oblivion or Skyrim. The power of the 360/PS3 generation made a traditionally PC-only genre not only viable to run but viable to render on console hardware
