I'm finishing y6, and I'm suffering a little of fatigue with the franchise, especially the sec mission, I played so many that I think I'm done for a lifetime. The main story were good for the most part, except the ending part who almost were complete braindead, but that's ok.
I really like the gameplay of the series tho, even if the 6 engine swap suck ass, but to switch to a turn base system just kill the very foundation on why I played them.
So it is worth it for a guy like me playing like a dragon?

shit costs 20 dollars and goes on sale for like 10 why not at least try it

story is pretty good and this is one the few yakuza games that sticks the landing as well, plus you get to beat up a stand-in for the LDP.

Best Yakuza game imo. It's 7 from Kiryu's perspective (the story jumps around a bit more because of being a small scale budget title though) still kino and best villain in the series, this one also has a great ending.

mmm story wise I always heard good things about LaD, I'll eventually check him out, but maybe in 5 years.

Gaiden is really good. Unfortunately they are exaggerating, the slap stick humor and the goofyness is too much, but the gameplay might be the best in the series. Story is shit, unfortunately, but pacing is very good and likely the best in the series. Beating the game is nearly getting a plat, so there's really no need for a ng+. If you want a challenge, skip armor and equipment in general. With gear it's too easy, even on professional.

Yeah, he's OK, I guess. I liked the y3 one much more. In fact, he's the best antagonist, k2 one comes shortly after.
I might play y8, but why isn't kiryu absolutely overpowered? He is in gaiden.

Am I the only guy disgusted by akane and her network? Why is kiryu paying her? He gives her money so she can sell him needed equipment afterwards. Why does kiryu loose constantly everything he possesses? He was a billionaire in his early twenties.

I'm trying to get through it but it feels like a chore. The combat isn't bad or anything but I just feel it's too much. The original combat in the older games was alot more fun and it was fun to grind that way. Defending a literal sex trafficking operation is not helping either.
