I just realized games doesn't need combat, they need a novelty event and a winning prize or some new token of information every 5-10 seconds.

What do I mean?

Walking into a newer level.
Finding a new chest.
Finding a bunch of secret coins.
Reading a new VN section.
Reading VN dialogs.
Finding a new secret area.
Getting a Key to unlock a chest.
Filling a bar.
Filling a grid point.
Doing a rythm section.
Carry an npc to a separate point of the map.

All that shit doesn't require combat, but can be as enjoyable as violence.

I'm a little confused by what you are saying, but I feel like games like Metal Gear Solid and Undertale do give you the option to not kill the enemy.

>Carry an npc to a separate point of the map.
TOTK flashback. I'm not a huge fan of escort missions.

I don't mean not killing the enemy.

I mean, not having conflict or combat.
