The technology behind is better sure but they run worse, and often even look worse because modern games have no art direction, they're jeet created asset dumps. On the gameplay side I'm not gonna defend SH2 but at least games back then had variety and provided you with different experiences, everything now plays the same, you either get the over the shoulder action adventure game or the rollslop wannabe.
