Did I fuck up my attacking the pirates in the expansion? I didn't want to negotiate so I thought I would kill them all. I see a lot of named npcs but they all attack me.

If you join the pirates you can hang out with them. But they're mutually exclusive with Aegis so you have to pick.
If you picked Aegis then you can't interact with them outside shooting them.

If you're siding with Aegis? Nah. You can massacre them wholeheartedly.
You can also prevent the professor's kidnapping outright by pickpocketing a comm device off one of the technicians in the camp.

Not really, you can betray aegis to join pirates and then they're your friendly faction in the expedition area but if you don't plan on doing that then they're just xp and loot.

The negotiation will just stop them from bothering the Aegis camp, they will still hate you and attack you on sight if they spot you "invading" their territories (and you have to do that anyway to complete the expansion). Fights are easily avoidable with a fast jet ski even if you have bad stealth but that costs money while killing them is free loot and free EXP.

Expedition starts without you and the aegis questline is broken. Whatever happens to aegis is no longer of your concern, not sure what else breaks but you're not allowed in the aegis camp they'll turn hostile if you try to land on their island.

After messing around with a half-dozen builds on dominating I got walled on my swords build in end-game again (unless I just stealth through everything), thought the SMG build was pretty dang good and most other things were fine usually all following the curve of getting pretty good when you scoop up exp after the prologue then giving mixed results in the end-game.

then I played a telekinetic unarmed build. holy fuck it's unfair, if the SMG stuff was the S tier of character builds out of the character builds so far then the telekinesis punchy guy is S+++++++ tier. I knew it was actually broken when (because I was playing a female character) I rolled the gray army mil base without a single reload

unfortunately styg is a moron and the save files take up a megaton of hard drive space (like 9 gigabytes) so I deleted all my save files recently and got to start over

When you go up there without Aegis you'll still get the Aegis rolling through that chokepoint cutscene which indicates the Aegis expedition has kicked off, but without you, locking you out of their faction quest chain.

imo it's like Protectorate vs. Free Drones. Free Drones is always better. Aegis is always better. If you do a repeat play you can choose the other faction just to see what it's like one time

bare fists for the lower AP but I had gloves as an alt for when the occasion arrived. Like really early on if you got a bot to get through you can just bop it with a sledge when telekinetic punch is on cooldown. I bothered with an energy edge melee weapon at one point but it was a waste of time.

psychokinesis is just overloaded with AoE, damage, nuke, and utility, then you have the low AP cost and infinite damage output of the low AP punches with force emision+telekinetic proxy. Corporeal Projection simply sends the damage through the stratosphere.

IIRC 9 dex gets to 8 base AP cost on unarmed, tabi boots + lightning punches drops it to 5 AP cost. Telekinetic Proxy doubled Force emission adding 140ish damage per punch.

Yes but you don't start with a heavy armor, you need to clear beast quest and then you need to craft different sets of heavy armor. The obviously most useful one is the tungsten set which will protect from mechanical damage, but tichrome set and supersteel set later are also good.
Playing heavy armor is just more involved than glass cannon builds since with glass cannon you only need to be good at 1 damage type, with tank builds you need to be good against all damage types and that requires lots of gear swapping. You'll be constantly swapping 3 maybe even more sets of gear depending on who you're fighting but you can become next to invincible even on dominating.

You get Isekai'd into Underrail as the MC with the meta knowledge of the game that you have now. You must kill T'chort and do the Expedition. Can you do it?

Goddamn, that's a nasty setup. I love how you stacked every possible multiplier—Force Emission + Proxy is already crazy, but getting punches down to 5 AP is pure filth. Did you end up running Tranquility or going for Last Stand/Iron Will for panic button options? I always found it hard to fit everything in without dumping movement or initiative, but this build just melts everything before it matters. That Corporeal Projection damage though… it's like psi went from “mind over matter” to “mind turns matter into paste.”
