>gameplay walkthrough (no commentary)
Very based. I always look one up when I need to check something or if the fucking game lacks a fucking pause button and my cat is shitting on the floor and I miss a cutscene because of it.

Watching a gameplay walkthrough with no commentary is probably the stupidest thing you can do.
Number one just play the fucking game yourself. Number two, if you're going to watch someone else play the fun is in seeing their struggle, reactions to things, commentary, etc. Yes this depends highly on being able to find a normal person and not a faggot which can be hard to find. I can even understand (as I do this myself) watching a game with commentary from someone as my first experience if its a game that I'm not particularly interested in enough to play myself, but if someone entertaining and/or likes that type of game I can maybe learn to appreciate it more.
But watching a game as your first and/or only experience on a video with no commentary just makes no sense to me whatsoever.

The struggle is finding likeable people who can commentate. That is very rare. I generally just play games myself and look at the list of people who I like to some degree and if they play something I'm interested in watching them play I'll watch it. If the game is boring or theyre being annoying for some reason I stop.
I never (and I don't think many people really do this) just go into youtube and looking for a lets play without a specific person/content creator in mind just because you want to watch *somebody* play that game. at least not since 2012.
