The biggest reason game corporations have gone fully anti-ownership is because they can, and there’s no real backlash. There’s no backlash because gamers have alternatives, like emulation. “Nintendo removed X game? Well, I’ll just emulate it.”
If we remove this mindset from gamer communities, we’d suddenly have many, many gamers demanding ownership rights and fair prices and how can we do that? By making emulation illegal.
