Playing games on composite just happened to be the way 99% of people experienced them. Composite is not just about the CRT's elements on the pixels, it has outright information loss. Because you're cramming everything into a single cable, they interfere with each other. The more you separate all the individual elements of the image, the best. That's why Component is better and SCART RGB is the best.
Stop playing with filters, specially the ones that simulate CRTs with grills. In fact, do not emulate unless absolutely necessary. You should be playing using real retro consoles, with RGB Scart Cables and an upscaler. Having a PVM would be ideal but those are unreasonable to obtain these days.
