the game was never going to be successful as long as its core design remained the same. forcing players to do chores before they can engage in the fun parts unavoidably cuts your potential playerbase to sub 10k no matter how "finished" the game is. best they could right now is strip away all the pseudo moba shit (it will never work in a shooter) and just make a normal ass shooter with some character progression type shit like how the overwatch 2 gamemode works
