those are core aspects of the game that have to be completely overhauled from the ground up by essentially remaking it, and on an engine that isnt outdated garbage.

I've been playing this the past week, pretty much my first time playing in almost 10 years. My thoughts are still the same. It's a fun game, the gameplay is fine. But anything to do with narrative, writing, story, setting, etc is pretty bad. It barely feels like Fallout. Should have been a spinoff instead of a main installment.
It blows my mind how many people were introduced to Fallout by 4 and how their entire perception of the series is based on it. No wonder so many people though the show was lore friendly.

Yeah, this is why I never enjoyed those types of games. If game day & night was as slow as real life and they added eating/drinking animations, hunger/thirst mechanics would be comfy. It’s fucking retarded having to eat & drink every 20 irl minutes. Also, making damage more realistic (without it being retarded) could make a game more fun. Watch Dogs 2 does this well with its realistic difficulty. Combat is only easy if you have really good aim and know how to use cover properly (woah just like real life)
