Blizzard scrapped the assets of Titan and made Overwatch. Can Sony do the same with Concord? It was a polished AAA game, so they won't throw it all away, right?
convert it to a self-referential comedy game and put some celeb or e-celeb known for being pedantic and whiny in charge of marketing the new game and it'll sell 3 million copies (and still not make its money back lol)

>>712788504 (OP) Polished turd is still just a turd. They closed the studio, they won't do anything with it.
>>712788504 (OP) Some Asian guy you've never heard of spent 5 years writing thousands of lines of code, only for all his hard work to be taken down, destroyed, and forgotten after two weeks.
>>712788504 (OP) No, one of the major problems of the game was the disgusting artstyle. It would be better to keep the gameplay and engine and replace the assets but who wants to play a mediocre hero shooter in current year?
The only thing I can think of they could re-use that wasn't that bad is the maps and the weapons models. Character designs got most of the hate, then gameplay as it wasn't anything refreshing or new or whatever, but I never got to see anyone hate on either the maps being an eyesore or the weapons designs.
>>712788990 Game was unreal engine 5, if he wrote thousands of lines of code then he was stupid, cause that shit comes pretty much pre-built.

>>712788862 >>712789035 Can't they make some sort of single player scifi game like mass effect out of it's ashes?

>>712788990 Asian here. I got paid. I didn't get into a fight for misgendering weirdos who want to be called "trick, or the proffessor. I want no trabble. They lay me off and hire me again.

Ironically the assets are the thing least worth keeping. If they had swapped in cute anime girls before releasing this turd they would have made back some of their money.
>>712788504 (OP) It wasn't a polished game. If it was a polished game, they would have given it more than a third of a month. They had ZERO confidence in that turd.
>>712788504 (OP) The only way they could salvage it is by throwing out all the designs outside of maybe the Asian, the trash can, and bootleg Drax and making it some sort of Star Wars-esque TPS with an entirely different writing team and focus. The GotG angle was a really terrible idea and the cast is nearly all terrible, but the diner scene and their thought process into the Freegunner stuff at least makes sense. They can try, but I think overall the stigma of Concord buries it outside of its assets that aren't the characters.

>>712788504 (OP) They could make a GOTG-meets-Halo style heist game using the assets if they only pick the good-looking characters. And that is, like, 3 of them.
>>712789631 The issue is that the gameplay itself wasn't anything to write home about. You could reuse most of the assets but the gameplay was never really its strong suit even when played seriously.
>>712794414 Everything they used in the CGi trailers and any future videos they planned on releasing. The various assets for the levels. The guns, their reload animations, and the various skills and ults can all be repurposed. Animations in general can be repurposed.
You're looking at it for what it was rather than what they can pull out of the wreckage and repurpose.
>>712794832 None of this is special or original, you can't salvage anything from this project because it's all extremely generic and it would likely be faster and cheaper to start from scratch than frankenstein a new game out of it.
>>712794985 >>712795125 Yes, it's generic, but it can still be used for set dressing or stuff for the background. It doesn't need to be at the forefront but it can still be made useful.
>>712788504 (OP) There aren't the bones of a game worth saving here. What isn't cringe is slop, or simply generic. Plus, any taint by association would kill whatever you managed to cobble together.

>>712795527 Like what? The model for a chair or a table? This was already using pre made assets, the only worthwhile stuff here are ironically the characters because those must have taken alot of work to make going from concept to final version.
