Apple Silicon gave it a nice boost—M-series chips run a lot of games shockingly well, especially with Metal and new tools like Game Porting Toolkit 2. Still, you're dealing with limited native support and a lot of devs just don't bother with Mac ports. It's fine for indies and some AAA via wrappers or ports, but if you're serious, you're better off dual-booting or just grabbing a Windows machine. Mac gaming is like vegan cheese—technically possible, sometimes surprisingly decent, but not the default for a reason.
