Complicated levels were too intimidating, so Id just made shitty linear hallways and shitty boring arenas. Id trusted the player so little the game has to show a 5 second unskippable cutscene of the 2 doors opening in said arenas, and there are a shit load of arenas. Pointless platforming. Abandonment of all sincerity and balls deep into ironic "awesomeness." And then because resource management was too complicated, Id just made everything cooldown based, so the player can never actually run out any resource.
Oh, and worst sin of all, it is actually fucking slower than 2016. Sure, some retards were fooled by speed lines on dash and that all enemies always move towards the player instead of actually having a mixture of behavior between ranged and melee enemies which makes it feel like things are moving faster, but it doesn't change the fact that it is actually much slower.
