Warframe. The people who dumped thousands of hours in this game were playing a different game than the one that is now available. All the fun builds were nerfed to the ground, niche build combos were removed from the game, all promises for endgame were thrown out of the window and all that's left now are frames with badly animated faces and twice as many content island detached from one another. The negative review from these people means a lot more than the recent zoomers that tried Warframe for 5 hours, left a positive review before seeing the mountain of shit that is hiding behind mobile microtransactions, a terrible and insulting story and the chat moderation/support team.

The way I play Warframe is like this. Install, play my beloved Mag and Speedva for a few weeks of just mindless defense missions, maybe archon hunt now and then, obtain the most powerful thing, uninstall for a year or so. The story was always garbage (the Second Dream is cool idea though) but I give you one thing, the atmosphere went from very dark to pegi 7 accessible. The way the game works now makes me happy, because when I return I get exactly what I expected. I am still overpowered but they added some new way to obtain power for my main. Is it meaningless? Yes. But that's the point. If you are playing it daily for long you will burn yourself out on expectations that will never come. I used to be like that back in 2013 when I started playing it but the first "open world" area in Cetus sobered me up for good and now the game is exactly what I want, and I'll get my "dark edgy" competently written stuff elsewhere.

I do sometimes get a small amount of anxiety thinking about the fact that only a vanishingly small amount of those reviews ever even made it to the end of a game
