there's no hate, it's more like the cost benefit analysis doesn't make sense. I'd use a laptop if I were some hobo drifter who couldn't use a desktop, but desktops are always going to be the better choice. not only that, you have more options now for portable devices thanks to revitalized interest in handhelds like the deck. so you do you I guess but don't act like you're making a smarter decision than everyone else.

i have acer nitro with like 1660 ti for 6 years and it just works

gaming laptops are fine. the problem is that inevitably you will always have to cool down 2 chips which is going to be hot as hell. and the price. the real competition is that normal APU laptops on the other hand are... fucking awesome. thinner, quieter, cheaper and they powerful as hell albeit you will not larp as an ebin gamer

There's no reason to own a Laptop in place of a Desktop. They are exclusively for richfags with comfy jobs where they play video games at work and have both.
